Yum...wonderfully satisfying pie and mash - Considering Goddard's has been preparing their pie and mash recipe for over a hundred years, it's not surprising they're really good at it. It was recommended in all the guide... read more books, so of course we had to drop by for a try. The menu included a range of traditional meat pies (mainly beef as well chicken and lamb) but also some non-meat pies and even gluten-free options, all of which were accompanied by mash potatoes. The meals were wholesome and filling, and very tasty with the brown gravy that came along with each plate. There are dining areas both downstairs and upstairs (greater capacity with latter), which are are fairly no-frills. Do note that plates (collected downstairs) are hot, so a little care is needed if carrying the food upstairs.
