Its a filling cheap meal. Pie and mash purists won't like the pies due to there being an almost gravy like texture with the mince. The pastry was flaky too.... read more The sight of gravy, baked beans and tinned peas going out indicates this is a tourist necessity and thats fine, theyre busy hard working folk here and its good to see business brisk. May 5, 2022We arrived at Greenwich at lunchtime, and so we went straight to Goddards. When the person who served us realised this was a ‘first time’ she gave us some tips - watch out for the one bone in the middle of each piece of eel, and apply vinegar and salt. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food, although we thought the apple pie would be improved if filo pastry had been used, as was the case with the beef pie. The eel was quite tasty and was white flesh with the texture of fish.
